Kula Flow Fundamentals: 200 hour Teacher Training
(winter 2022)
*hybrid virtual + in-person, NYC or LA; or virtual only option
So…you know that you are in love with the practice and you have secretly (or openly!) been dreaming about doing a 200 hour teacher training for the past year (or more). You religiously study with your favorite teachers, pine for more information, and perhaps even fiddle around with teaching your friends, lovers, family, co-workers and pets. The time has finally come to formalize that education and see what it takes to take your dreams public! This training will offer you the first steps on a lifelong journey of developing the craft of becoming a teacher. Kula’s foundational training is designed to help you acquire the building blocks you will need in order to continue your education over the next several years. This training is fundamental and is meant to be the cornerstone of your teaching career. We will fill your tool box with all of the necessary elements you will need in order to teach a basic Kula Flow class by the time you graduate. This training is meant for students who have a desire to be on their feet teaching, not for students looking to deepen their practice but not use their voice (which is also good, but then this is not the right training for you).
TUITION DETAILS:
$3500 in person ($3000 if registered by early bird 11/15)
$2800 virtual only option ($2500 if registered by early bird 11/15)

You will meet from 12 – 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays of the following weekends:
Feb 19/20; 26/27; March 5/6; 12/13; 19/20; 26/27; April 2/3; 9/10; 16/17 and 23/24.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: You must have a consistent yoga practice of at least 3 years and it is strongly recommended that you have a consistent Kula Flow practice of at least 6 months. You must speak with Nikki Vilella if you are interested in the program and obtain an application directly from her. If you have never been to Kula, it is required that you take class before emailing Nikki for an application and a meeting. It is our recommendation that professional and/or personal commitments be minimized during this time, as you will be expected to complete work and participate in mentor groups outside of classroom time.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: In order to receive a Kula Flow Fundamentals certificate of graduation, you will be required to attend all sessions, complete all out of classroom assignments, pass 2 written tests (one midterm and one final exam), and teach a Kula Flow class where you are able to demonstrate sufficient comprehension of the material covered in the training. In the interest of maintaining the highest possible standards for graduates of the Kula Teacher Training program, graduation is not guaranteed unless all requirements are met in full. Graduates of this program will be certified and considered RYT-200 by the Yoga Alliance.
You must obtain an application from Nikki Vilella. Email her to do so (or with any other questions!) at nikki@kulayoga.com.

The Kula Yoga scholarship program offers partial scholarships to multiple people who plan to attend the Kula Teacher Training program. The amount granted varies from person to person. Two of the scholarships are reserved for interested members of the BIPOC community. Other scholarship awards are for candidates who have a financial need and will help bring diversity into the Teacher Training program. Diversity takes a wide swath in our consideration and may be: economic, ethnic, cultural, spiritual, etc.
The scholarship was established in 2014 as an offshoot of the community classes held at Kula. In addition to the funding provided by the community classes, Kula, alongside outside sources, provide matching contributions so we can maximize our outreach. If you or someone you know is interested in contributing to our scholarship program, please contact us.
We believe a yoga community that is reflective and inclusive of the people who inhabit the city in which we live makes for a better overall community. This scholarship program is our way of providing assistance to the chosen recipients so that they will be able to participate in the program and pay it forward someday.
