SWEATY INTELLIGENT ECSTATIC
eighteen years ago, schuyler grant + tal rachleff opened kula as businesses established and re-established themselves in lower manhattan as part of the city’s recovery post 9/11. in 2010, schuyler partnered with nikki vilella and opened kula williamsburg alongside the shanti shack.
tribeca has transformed to a nearly unrecognizable degree since that date—and the studio has weathered more than a few of its own transformations—but many things remain unchanged. the majority of our teachers and many of our staff have been climbing our famous green stairs for more than ten years, and without them—and you—kula would never have lived up to its namesake: the rad intentional community it was always intended it to be.
you can still find us on the fourth floor of one of the last walk-up lofts in tribeca—as well as our newest haunt in soho, and our lone brooklyn outpost in williamsburg.
all of our classes are drop-in; however, there are several that do fill up ahead of time. please sign up in advance, as it not only guarantees you a spot as long as you arrive 5 min before class starts, but also ensures you will receive an email update should a last minute schedule change occur. many answers to FAQs can be found on this site, but don’t hesitate to holler if you have one that isn’t.
and mostly: much love and gratitude. we could never have done it without you.
xoxo, schuyler, tal, nikki, + the kula community
